Mission Arlington meets community needs for the past 30 years

Tillie Burgin began Mission Arlington after her missionary family returned from South Korea and a 7-year commitment to prayer. “If we could do missions in Korea, why can’t we do missions in Arlington?”

Mission Arlington’s exponential growth can only be attributed to a faithful God.  He has continued to shower creative ideas to the thousands of volunteers, Tillie and the Mission Arlington team through commitment and hard work.

Through the years Mission Arlington has meet the needs of the community by providing free medical (over $2 million in medical exams and medication) and free dental services (over $1 million this year), emergency assistance, furniture, food, and more!

Services for Adults, Children and Youth

• After School Program: Students receive help with their homework each week during the school year at 40 sites. Total attendance 49,400 students. For times, locations and transportation information, call 817-277-6620.
• Bible Olympics: Special event 281 students participated to memorize Scriptures
  
• Bible Studies: 349 Congregations – 12,000 participants
• Basketball: 100 children, 150 youth
  
• Camps: 7 summer camps!
  
• Carnivals: Mission Arlington® works with managers of apartment communities, police and fire departments, and other civic and community organizations to host carnivals for children and teenagers.
• Christmas: 7,351 families received 4,000 bikes; 368 salvations; 743 requests for spiritual follow-up. 7,000 volunteers make it happen! 
  
• Dental: 4,553 patients seen. 10,664 volunteer hours, $1,498,183 worth of dentistry
  
• Easter Store & Easter egg hunt: 120,000 Easter eggs, 27 spiritual decisions, 7 accepted Christ
  
• Emergency Assistance: 39,979 families total 140,596 total family members
  
• Fall Festivals: 3,000 enjoyed safe and fun Halloween alternative
  
• Furniture Delivery: 3,732 families received furniture
  
• Groups Helping: 1,558 different teams
  
• Medical: 8,926 patients visited – $1,199,695 of free health care AND $1,591,870 free medication provided! Wow!
  
• Rainbow Express®: Over 491 locations across our community were hosted. 1,013 salvations – 5,000 volunteers from 15 states, 53 Texas cities
• School Supplies: Over 9,000 students received everything they need to start school
• Sports: has two facilities dedicated to youth ministries including game rooms, sports fields and a gymnasium.
• Summer Missionaries: Students from 5 states, 10 from mission congregations
  
• Tent Revivals: 12 revivals, 30 salvations, 1500 in attendance
  
• Thanksgiving: 6,000 volunteers deliver Thanksgiving meal to 6,000 families
  
• Transportation: 34,743 trips
  
• Volunteers (Community Service): 165,960 volunteer hours
  
• Women’s Rally: 300
  
• Youth Rallies: Disciple Now 255 – Maundy Thursday 289
• Recorded number of Spiritual Decisions in 2015 – Total: 2664
